I was forewarning my customer base that i'll be hitting my busy season soon...
(O_O)  well it came earlier than ever, and requests are still pouring in.

January is all booked.  It doesn't help at all that I'm a rather paced artist, and i put just as much work into each design that i can. Maybe through consistency my speed will increase... and i think it has, though i elaborate more and more with each piece. I really hope i can find some other talent to host at my shop, alas only 2 people in the community comes to mind for me, and they are both doing well where they are it seems.  >_<   in time i suppose. I won't risk quality for the shop. Someone in Michigan will want to work in this free and creative environment (well, that reminds me, I've had on average of 5 kids a month asking about an apprenticeship here)

My apprentice (Derick) has been doing good. He's pretty driven and skilled. Flaws are obvious enough in his art, so I'm doing my best to push him without being too aggressive. Change has to come from hard work. Something in teaching that inversely reinforces the concepts and ideas i go by and use. Tis rewarding thus far.

Come Feb. i will be upgrading my cam lens. <3 several gorgeous specimens in line for shoot! now i just need to find the time or put efforts into post soon after the shoot. Too much of my old work is filled with bad lighting, blurry pix, or mess from a spotty cam sensor. but its a learning process.

not enuff time lately for paintings, but sketches are boiling concepts to the surface.  Battleplan: bills payed few months in advance/ equipment and shop expansion complete/ schedule more time into calender for painting into my habits and routine. <3 that i dont have kids! or that would be the death of my freetime for sure.
